Saving money can be a hard thing, because it requires a lot of discipline to make changes to your budget or even create a budget from scratch.

There are so many things that you can try changing in your life to save money but possible one that are often overlooked is your phone bill, as this often is just paid for at whatever the cost and just accepted as costing a heap.

However, there is much money to be save in you analyze your phone bill. So what is Straight Talk? Basically the company is a joint operation between Walmart and Tracfone to give an unlimited prepaid cell phone service that is cheaper than any of the others that are on the market. What do you get? For $45 a month you get Unlimited Talk, Text and Internet data.

A good range of Smart phones is available from many of the major brands so you can afford to buy a prepaid phone outright and know that it is yours, under a contract you don’t on the phone until the contract is over, or paid out in full.

Even though phones are such a large part of our lives these days it doesn’t mean we have to have the latest and the greatest phone.

I personally changed over to Straight Talk around late last year, and I have saved heaps of cash. So I guess this is what inspired me to write this article, I really wanted to help others save the kind of money that I have.

I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t saved this money because after the financial crisis hit the US, I had to change many things in my to get back on track, and my cell phone bill was a large part of getting everything in order to save my house and my car.
